The 962nd Urs of Hazrat Syed Ali Bin Osman Alhajveri popularly known as Data Ganj Bukhsh started here on Sunday.
Governor Punjab Lieutenant-General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) opened the Urs festivities by laying Chaddar at the Mazar. The governor, accompanied by various government officials and large number of devotees, prayed for the prosperity and solidarity of the country. Later, Khalid Maqbool opened a milk Sabeel.
The Urs ceremonies would continue for three days and conclude with Na'at Khawani and Qawali competitions to be held at Sama Hall Darbar Complex tomorrow.
The Darbar's administration along with police have devised foolproof security arrangements to meet any untoward eventuality arising during the Urs festivities.
